Santa Baby Shower

Glendale Private Home December 2025

About This Installation

A Christmas-themed baby shower at a private home in Glendale. I designed an in-house built arched backdrop panel with vinyl 'Santa Baby' lettering, framed by organic balloon garland in burgundy, white, and gold chrome tones. Pine branches with red berries were woven throughout the garland for a festive holiday feel. The setup was styled alongside a decorated Christmas tree and wrapped gift boxes, creating a warm, cozy celebration welcoming a holiday baby.

Burgundy, white, and gold chrome traced the arched backdrop panel in a holiday palette tuned for warm indoor light — a Glendale private home in December runs heavy on tungsten lamps and Christmas-tree string lights, and a brighter red would have spiked under that load. Burgundy held its depth instead of going neon; the white kept the composition from drifting heavy; the gold chrome caught the tree lights at exactly the angle the photos needed. Pine branches with red berries threaded through the garland tied the install's palette to the existing tree across the room without forcing a literal color match.

The arched backdrop panel was the single architectural anchor. Vinyl-cut 'Santa Baby' lettering ran across the panel face — sized to read from across the living room, mounted flush so the typography sat as part of the panel rather than as signage clamped onto it. Organic balloon garland in burgundy, white, and gold chrome draped across the top of the arch and tapered down both legs in roughly two-thirds, one-third proportion so the composition didn't feel symmetrical for symmetry's sake. Pine branches with red berries were woven through the garland at uneven intervals — the foliage is what kept the install from reading as a generic red-and-white balloon wall.

My team built the arched panel in our studio with the vinyl lettering CNC-cut and mounted flush. The pine branches were chosen for shape and color match against the burgundy rather than pulled from a generic holiday foliage bin — wrong-tone pine would have flattened the depth the palette was working to create. The Christmas tree and wrapped gift boxes already in the home were folded into the install's composition rather than being styled around; the tree's existing ornaments and lighting set the warm tonal baseline that the arch had to integrate with.

A private home in Glendale at Christmas brings its own constraints — the room already carries seasonal decor, the lighting is fixed and warm, and the install has to look like an extension of the room rather than an imported event setup. I sized the arched panel to fit between the existing tree and the gift-box arrangement without crowding either, and oriented the lettering toward the room's natural seating sightline so guests would read the headline without having to turn their chairs.

A holiday baby shower works when the install reads as part of the season rather than as a party staged on top of it — the burgundy and the pine pulled their weight there.
