Little Snowflake Baby Shower

Studio City Zeytuna December 2025

About This Installation

A winter-themed baby shower at Zeytuna event venue in Studio City. I designed a white backdrop panel with vinyl 'Our Little Snowflake' lettering, framed by a full organic balloon garland in pink blush, dusty rose, and pale pink tones cascading on both sides. Snowflake stickers decorated the backdrop for a subtle winter touch. The Mirelle white 12-slat cake stand anchored the setup, creating an elegant, feminine winter celebration against the venue's stone wall.

The pink blush, dusty rose, and pale pink palette was the deliberate move against the snowflake-theme default of pale blue and silver — a winter baby shower for a girl doesn't need to commit to ice tones to read as winter. I chose three pink values that sit warm against a cool stone wall, so the panel held its temperature instead of disappearing into the venue's masonry. Dusty rose carried the mid-tone, pink blush brightened the highlight clusters, and pale pink softened the transitions between them. The snowflake reference came in graphically, not chromatically — the palette stayed feminine while the stickers handled the seasonal note.

The white panel was framed for vertical readability — a portrait-orientation backdrop with the vinyl 'Our Little Snowflake' lettering set high enough to clear the seated mother in the cake-cutting shots. Full organic balloon garland in the three-pink blend cascaded down both sides of the panel, weighted heavier at the top corners and tapering toward the floor — a deliberate asymmetry that the snowflake stickers punctuated at the panel's quieter zones. The Mirelle 12-slat cake stand sat at the panel base as a small architectural object — its slatted geometry gave the foreground a crisp horizontal line that the round balloons softened above.

The panel was built in-house, surface and frame, with the lettering cut as vinyl applique sized to the panel proportions rather than to a stock template. Snowflake stickers were placed individually after the garland was hung — sequence matters here, because stickers placed under the garland edge would have been read as floating debris instead of as intentional graphic notes. The cake stand was matched to the panel's matte white rather than to a glossy alternative; matte holds its tone under venue lighting without throwing reflections that compete with the balloons.

Zeytuna in Studio City carries an exposed stone wall as one of its primary architectural features, which is a hard backdrop for any installation to sit against — the wall texture is doing its own work, and a busy panel would have fought it. The white panel kept clean against the stone, and the warm pink palette held the eye on the install instead of letting the wall's cooler gray dominate the frame. I sized the panel to fit cleanly within a single section of the stone wall geometry, not bridging across joints.

A winter baby shower works in pink when the palette is committed and the seasonal cues stay light — the snowflakes did just enough.
